Standard Emergency Orders
Responding to an Emergency
The following Standard Emergency orders are to be used as a guide for responding to an emergency.
Emergency Control Organization Hours 8.00 am – 4.30 pm Weekdays
- Assist any person in immediate danger Only if Safe to do so
- Call for Assistance Call extension 1222
- And (For Fire only, Break glass alarm)
- Attack Fire if safe to do so - eg: Extinguishers or Hose reels
- Follow All instructions from Wardens (or Overhead announcements)
- Evacuate when advised, continue to 1 of 3 Evacuation Points,
- Remain at that location until advised
After Hours 4.30 pm – 8.00 am Weekdays, Weekends & Public Holidays
- Assist any person in immediate danger Only if Safe to do so
- Call for Assistance. Call Emergency Services DIRECT on (0) 000
- And (For Fire only, Break glass alarm)
- Attack Fire if safe to do so - eg: Extinguishers or Hose reels
- Prepare to Evacuate on the “Burp, Burp, Burp” tone
- Evacuate on the “Whoop, Whoop, Whoop” tone
- continue to 1 of 3 Evacuation Points
- Remain at that location until advised
