FEES
AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND CITIZENS/AUSTRALIAN RESIDENTS
School Leavers and Non-School Leavers
How much you pay for your tuition will depend on what type of university place you have and the subjects you undertake as part of that course. There are 2 types of places that you can have - a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) or an Australian fee place.
If you accept a CSP place, then the Australian Government will contribute towards the cost of your course. The Government will also set a maximum limit on how much the University can ask you to contribute to a CSP place. To calculate the fees for a CSP place, refer to http://fee.acs.unimelb.edu.au/index.aspx . Click on "Commonwealth Supported Places" under "Subject Fee Calculator". In the empty boxes under "Subject Code", enter the number for each BDSc subject (which you will find under Course Structure on the Bachelor of Dental Science page) and hit 'tab'. The fees for that subject will then be revealed. For further information on CSP places, refer to http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/courses/fees.html.
If you accept an Australian fee place, then the Australian Government will not contribute towards the cost of your course. This means you will have to pay the full tuition fee for the course as set by the University. To calculate the fees for an Australian fee place, refer to http://fee.acs.unimelb.edu.au/index.aspx. Click on "Australian Fee Places" under "Subject Fee Calculator". In the empty boxes under "Subject Code", enter the number for each BDSc subject (which you will find under point 1 Course Structure on the Bachelor of Dental Science page) and hit 'tab'. The fees for that subject will then be revealed. Further information about costs for fee-based enrolment can be found at http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/courses/fees.html.
Transferring from a full-fee place to a CSP (Commonwealth Supported Place)
University of Melbourne Australian fee-paying students will automatically receive a CSP place, provided they have a cumulative H2A average over 100 points during the course.
