Getting Started for Graduate Students

Welcome to the Melbourne Dental School.

You will find information and web links here to help you settle into your new life as a postgraduate student.

Online Enrolment

All new postgraduate students will receive online enrolment instructions by post and email by the second week of January 2009.  This will include the following:

Compulsory Clinical Orientation

All new clinical graduate students commencing in February are required to attend the Graduate Orientation and Certification Program conducted at the Melbourne Dental School from Monday 2 February to Friday 6 February 2009.

2008 Graduate Orientation and Certification Program

The 2009 program will be finalized in January 2009.  On the first day of orientation, full-time students will be allocated a study desk, all students will be issued keys to the postgraduate study room and their personal storage space.  In addition, your photograph will be taken for School ID cards.

Information for clinical Graduate students

All clinical graduate students must provide the following documentation prior to accessing the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne clinics and undertaking clinical training:

Working with Children Checks:

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences Working with Children Check Policy

All students new to the Melbourne Dental School in 2009 are required to obtain a Working with Children Check on or shortly after enrolment. Working with Children checks are valid for 5 Years. Students whose course extends beyond 5 years will be required to obtain a new check. Information about this is available at http://www.justice.vic.gov.au/workingwithchildren.
