Welcome to the 2007 Continuing Professional Development Program
A Message from the Director
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to present in conjunction with the ADA (VB) the 2007 Continuing Professional Development Program. The program has further developed to enhance your CPD experiences, taking into account participant feedback.
Since our move to the new Dental School in September 2005, we have been able to use the state of the art audio-visual facilities in the lecture theatres, and pre-clinical laboratory facilities as well as the new 90-place computer laboratory. The CPD unit will continue to modify our existing courses to adapt and centre around these facilities.
2006 has seen the School of Dental Science and the ADA (VB) continue to work well together to bring the best CPD programs to Victorian practitioners and continues to attract interstate participation.
I am happy to announce important new courses offered by the School during 2007, including Exodontia, Orthodontics and Recency of Practice. We are also offering several new courses for our Dental Hygienist/Therapist colleagues. We are already planning exciting new courses for 2008 including a new long modular course and a course in association with the ADA(VB) and other Schools within the University environment.
There are many people who deserve thanks for the smooth running of the CPD Programs at the School: Recently returning from maternity leave is the Program Administrator Samantha Vassallo La Rosa (nee Albert); A new member of the CPD team is staff member Ms. Elena Malgeri; Mr. Mario Smith and Mrs Susan Dobell who keenly support the many CPD programs run through the already busy pre-clinical laboratory; The School of Dental Science CPD Committee which is responsible for driving change and providing valuable feedback and advice in regard to course planning and CPD-related activities; all the speakers from the School and the wider dental community who have continued to provide current information to drive the Schools CPD courses. The Dental Practice Board of Victoria has also provided advice and material such that we have been able to disseminate information pertinent to CPD activity in Victoria. Finally, our kind sponsors have allowed us to offer another extensive booklet.
I do hope you enjoy the 2007 CPD program and feel confident that we have something that will appeal to everyone’s needs and interests.
